Abia CP warns youths against protecting criminals

Abia State Commissioner of Police Danladi Isa has warned youths in the state against shielding criminals in their communities.
He also promised his command’s continued synergy with youth groups in combating criminality in Abia State.
CP Isa made the remarks on Wednesday at the Abia State Police Command’s headquarters in Umuahia when he received the executives of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, and the Ohanaeze Youth Council, OYC, Abia State chapters.
He assured the newly elected NYCN and OYC executives, led by Mr. Smith O. Sylvanus and Mr. Eugene Okonta respectively, of his support and collaboration.
The police boss, who emphasised that much was expected of them, disclosed that the majority of crime suspects fall within the youth population.
He admonished them to be models of good conduct and law-abiding behaviour for other youths, and assured them of the command’s readiness to participate jointly in their sensitisation programmes.
Presenting their addresses, the leaders of NYCN and OYC said the purpose of the visit was to introduce their newly elected executives to the Commissioner of Police and to acquaint him with their mandates.
