Ose Anenih, son of Tony Anenih resigns from PDP

Ose Anenih, son of the late Chief Tony Anenih, one of the founding fathers of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has announced his resignation from the party.

The development brings an end to Anenih’s long-standing association with the PDP.

Anenih announced his resignation from the PDP in a letter dated August 18, 2025, and addressed to the PDP Ward Chairman of Arue Ward 3 in Uromi, Edo State.

The party chieftain explained that he was stepping away from partisan politics to devote more time to his family and other pressing commitments.

Anenih said his decision followed deep personal reflection, noting that he now intends to focus on his family and other pressing responsibilities.

According to him, his resignation takes effect immediately. He described the move as one taken after careful thought, while acknowledging his profound connection to the PDP and the role it has played in his political journey.

“This decision was not made lightly,” he wrote.

“From the very beginning, I have stood with the PDP through its triumphs and its trials, bound by a belief in the promise of Nigerian democracy and in the ideals that first drew me to the Umbrella.”
