Bye-election: PDP wins Tinubu Minister’s polling unit in Jigawa

The All Progressives Congress, APC, on Saturday lost to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP at the polling unit 001 where the Minister of Defence, Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar cast his vote in the yet-to-be concluded by-election.
The polling unit is in Babura Kofar Arewa Primary School where eligible voters were out to elect a representative for the Garki-Babura federal constituency.
While APC polled 112 votes, PDP won with 308 in the minister’s polling unit.
The minister, who is an APC chieftain and immediate past governor of the state, cast his vote amid tight security in the area.
He reportedly left without addressing journalists.
DAILY POST reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, conducted re-run and bye-election in at least 12 states across the country on Saturday.
In some places, the exercise was marred by apathy, violence and vote buying.
