EPL: Maresca hits back at Arne Slot over Chelsea title claims

Chelsea manager, Enzo Maresca, has hit back at his Liverpool counterpart, Arne Slot, who claimed that the Blues should have won the Premier League last season.
In Maresca’s first season at Stamford Bridge, he led the team to a fourth-placed finish in the league and won the UEFA Conference League.
Last month, Chelsea also won the FIFA Club World Cup in the United States.
These achievements have led to many pundits expecting them to mount a title challenge this time around.
One of such comments came from Slot who praised the Chelsea squad’s depth and quality.
But Maresca, speaking ahead of Sunday’s opening game against Crystal Palace, said: “I don’t pay attention to what the other people say about us.
“It’s easy to say that more clubs are involved. I don’t like to play this kind of game.
“I like to be focused on players, try to improve and then they can say what they want.”
