A tragic accident near the Federal University, Lafia, has claimed the life of a student, Ifeoma Blessings Nweke, who was struck by a tricycle on August 13 around 11:30 a.m.
Zagazola Makama reported that the tricycle rider, Fedelis Zakka from Agyarangu Tasha in Obi Local Government Area, was transporting female passengers from Kayarda, Obi LGA, to the university gate when he hit Nweke.
The student was reportedly crossing the road with friends near the campus speed bumps when the incident occurred.
Nweke was rushed to the Federal University Lafia Clinic and later referred to the National Hospital in Abuja, where she passed away while receiving treatment.
Police have arrested the tricycle rider, and the vehicle involved in the incident has been impounded at the ‘A’ Division in Lafia. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
