Police present N14.1m to families of deceased officers in Sokoto

The Sokoto State Police Command has disbursed N14.1 million to families of officers who died or were injured while on active duty.
The funds, totalling N14,120,491.70, were shared under the Inspector-General of Police Family Welfare Scheme, Group Life Assurance, and Group Personal Accident Scheme during a brief ceremony at the Command Headquarters in Sokoto.
The Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Musa, was represented at the event by the Deputy Commissioner in charge of Finance and Administration, Umar Abubakar Sokoto.
Abubakar, who delivered remarks on behalf of the CP, said the initiative aimed to provide some relief to the affected families. He urged the recipients to make good use of the funds.
One of the beneficiaries, Attahiru Sulaiman, who spoke on behalf of others, thanked the police authorities for the financial support and pledged that the money would be used responsibly.
The Command said it would continue to focus on the welfare of both serving and retired personnel, as well as families of officers who lost their lives in the line of duty.
