The Deputy Commander General of the board, Dr. Mujahid Aminuddeen, confirmed the arrest on Monday.
According to him, the operation took place on Saturday following repeated complaints from members of the public about unlawful behaviour allegedly taking place at the hotel.
“The 26 persons were arrested during an operation in Grace Palace Hotel near Bukabu Barrack in Kano metropolis,” he said.
The group arrested includes 14 women and 12 men, all reportedly caught in the act.
Dr. Aminuddeen expressed gratitude to the military authorities for their cooperation in ensuring the operation was carried out without incident.
“We want to seize this opportunity to appreciate the military authorities and their commander for the cooperation they gave us to conduct the operation successfully,” he noted.
He further revealed that many of those taken into custody were intoxicated, and that several cartons of assorted alcoholic beverages were seized at the scene.
“We want to seize this opportunity to appeal to members of the public to continue to report to our office such immoral activities being carried out, be it in hotels or residential houses, for prompt action,” he said.
