Police arrest suspect over kidnapping, murder of nurse, one-year-old child in Abuja

The Federal Capital Territory, FCT Police on Friday, revealed that one David Moses suspected to be involved in the abduction and murder of a nurse, Chinyere Anaene and a toddler in Dawaki area of the territory.
Josephine Adeh, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO explained that the command received a report on 23 July over the disappearance of one Mrs Chinyere, a 55-year-old nurse at the Clear Hope Foundation Academy, Dawaki.
She said the nurse was a caregiver to a one-year and two-month-old toddler, Nanenter Asher Yese, who was also declared missing.
According to Josephine, the caregiver’s husband later received a ransom demand of N250 million through his wife’s mobile phone.
The PPRO further explained that the police operatives subsequently arrested Moses, a security guard at the school.
She said the suspect “later confessed to conspiring with his best friend, one Sunday Irimiya (still at large) to commit the crime.
“The suspects lured Mrs. Anaene to the school bathroom where they attacked and strangled her. David then took the child from a classroom and they murdered him in the same manner.
“Their bodies were placed in a sack, transported using a scavenger’s cart, and dumped in a canal. The suspect led police to the location, where the remains were recovered”.
