Career
Her career in the film industry began in 2004 when she appeared in her first film, MASTER DJ, produced by Sarabi Pictures in Cameroon. Her passion for acting and storytelling led her across the ocean to the United States at a young age.
She started doing what she did best as soon as she arrived in the United States. Also joined the All Africa Theater Company and spent two unforgettable summers performing in Chinua Achebe’s “Things Fall Apart.”
She appeared in over ten African films after her adventures in the United States, rubbing shoulders with some of Nollywood’s biggest stars. She rose to prominence in the African film industry in the United States in 2010. The UK blog Dulce Camer named her one of the top 50 Cameroonian women to watch in 2010.
The plot thickens, however, as Okawa Shaznay returns to Africa. She made her feature film debut in “Cheaters,” directed by the legendary Frank Rajah Arase.
