Unity Cup: It was about ego – Ndidi reflects on Nigeria’s clash with Ghana

Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has reflected on Nigeria’s Unity Cup victory against Ghana some months ago.
According to the Leicester City star, the Ghana game was more about settling egos between both teams, adding that Nigeria had to win the encounter.
Ndidi played a vital role in Nigeria’s Unity Cup triumph in May this year.
The 28-year-old featured against Ghana and Jamaica as Nigeria won the competition for a third time.
“The Ghana game was more of settling our ego; we had to win that one. It does not matter if we lose the final,” Ndidi recently said on The Culture League podcast.
“The turnout was good. For Ghanaians, they came out, Jamaicans came out. I feel like Nigerians, we wanted to see how it went first, then the next one, they would come. But the turn up for other countries was much.”
