Avoid imposing directives that will disrupt pharmaceutical sector – ACPN to NAFDAC

The Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria, ACPN, has enjoined the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, to avoid imposing directives that could disrupt the pharmaceutical sector.
ACPN also called for a regulatory framework to avoid conflict between NAFDAC and the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria, PCN.
National Chairman of ACPN, Pharm Ambrose Ezeh, said this in a statement made available to DAILY POST on Saturday.
Ezeh who spoke at the 44th Annual National Scientific Conference of the association in Awka, Anambra State, emphasised the importance of the National Drug Distribution Guidelines, NDDG, established in 2015.
He advised NAFDAC to avoid any form of imposition of directives that could disrupt the sector.
At the event themed, “Technology Integration and Personalized Care: The Future of Community Pharmacy Practice,” Ezeh highlighted the need for clear regulatory frameworks in the sector.
He maintained that this will help avoid conflicts between NAFDAC and PCN.
Ezeh called on NAFDAC to respect established statutory functions, reaffirming ACPN’s commitment to collaborating with the government to enhance healthcare delivery and ensure the well-being of health consumers across the country.
