Transfer: Arsenal move to sign Eberechi Eze after completing Gyokeres deal

Arsenal will move quickly to secure a deal for Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze once the signing of Viktor Gyökeres is completed, the Independent reports.

It is believed that Eze regards the Gunners as his number one choice, and those close to the England midfielder are confident an agreement will be reached within the next few weeks.

Arsenal are hoping to negotiate a fee of around £60m, rather than paying the reported £68m release clause. However, any agreement would need to be acceptable to Crystal Palace, with indications that both clubs are willing to be flexible.

The Gunners’ preference is to sell a player before finalising the Eze deal, although it is understood that the transfer is not dependent on this.

There is also the possibility that Reiss Nelson could be included as part of the deal.
