Profile of Samuel Aboagye’s wife

New details about the life of Abigail Salami, the widow of the late NDC’s Samuel Aboagye have surfaced online as a paternity dispute between her and the Aboagye family lands in court.
The late politician’s relatives have accused Salami of refusing to submit her daughter for a DNA test—an action they claim forced them to seek legal redress.
According to the Aboagye family, Samuel, who tragically died in a helicopter crash on August 6, 2025, allegedly harboured suspicions before his death that the child he shared with Abigail was fathered by another man.
The family claims Salami, who resides in the United States, refused to present the child for DNA testing on two separate occasions, prompting the family to file the matter before the Obuasi District Court.
The first hearing was held on November 11, and the case has been adjourned to December 23 for further proceedings.
Who Is Abigail Salami?
Amid the controversy, public attention has shifted to the background and personal life of the late politician’s wife.
- Abigail Salami is a Ghanaian nurse from Sandema, the capital of the Builsa North District in the Upper East Region
- She trained as a nurse at the Bolgatanga Nursing Training School.
- Before travelling abroad, she worked as a Registered Nurse at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
After relocating to the United States, Salami continued to advance her education. She is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Public Health and Social Work at the University of Northern Iowa.
In April, the University featured her on its official Instagram page, praising her academic dedication and potential contribution to global health in the future.
Relationship and Family Life
Salami reportedly began dating Samuel Aboagye in December 2021. The couple married in April 2022, and welcomed their first daughter in September 2022, just months after their wedding.
While Salami has not publicly commented on the allegations, the Aboagye family insists that her refusal to comply with the DNA test has raised further doubts, leaving them with “no option but to seek the court’s intervention.”
As the December 23 hearing approaches, the case continues to draw significant public interest due to its sensitive nature and the high-profile individuals involved.
