2026 WCQ: Oliseh talks up Frederick’s performance against Gabon

Former Super Eagles head coach Sunday Oliseh has singled out Benjamin Fredrick for praise following the team’s thrilling 4-1 win over Gabon, DAILY POST reports.

Fredrick made his sixth appearance for the Super Eagles in the 2026 FIFA World Cup playoffs semi-final tie.

The 20-year-old formed a solid partnership with Calvin Bassey at the heart of the Super Eagles defence.

The defender also set up Victor Osimhen for Nigeria’s third goal after winning the ball from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Oliseh took to the social media to celebrate Fredrick.

”I personally found Benjamin Frédrick to be the most influential player yesterday versus Gabon for Super Eagles.

“Always well positioned, pacy, decisive and played Simple. Now let’s celebrate today. But from Tomorrow CONGO needs to be our next Victim. Boy it feels great in the morning when Naija do well.”

Fredrick has established himself as key player for the Super Eagles since making his debut against Jamaica in the Unity Cup in May.

He is on loan at Belgian Pro League outfit, Dender from Brentford.
