Abu Francis suffers fracture in Ghana’s defeat to Japan

Toulouse midfielder Abu Francis appeared to suffer a fracture during Ghana’s international friendly against Japan on Friday.
The twist occurred around his ankle as he attempted to block a shot about ten minutes into the second half.
The 24-year-old was stretchered off, with teammates visibly distressed after witnessing the horrific angle of the injury.
He started the match and was substituted in the 56th minute for Alidu Seidu.
Francis made the Black Stars squad for the Japan and South Korea friendlies after missing the September and October World Cup qualifiers.
The Right to Dream graduate joined Ligue 1 side Toulouse in the summer from Belgian club Cercle Brugge.
Given how the injury looked, it seems Abu Francis will be out for an extended period.
Japan won the match 2-0 with goals from Minamino and Ritsu Doan. Ghana will face South Korea on Tuesday, November 18.
