Man arraigned for allegedly killing own father in Kano


The Kano State Government has re-arraigned Isma’il Dahiru Ajingi before the State High Court sitting at the Audu Bako Secretariat, under the presiding judge, Justice Amina Adamu Aliyu, on a charge of culpable homicide contrary to Section 221 of the Penal Code.

The state prosecutor, Barrister Lamido Abba Soran Dinki, presented a witness, ASP Abdullahi Sajo, the police officer who investigated the case. The witness gave detailed testimony before the court and was later discharged.

After the proceedings, the court fixed January 27, 2026, for continuation of the trial.

The defendant is accused of stabbing his father to death following a disagreement on their onion farm after the father reportedly refused to allow him to take another wife. The incident occurred on April 22, 2024, at Unguwar Bai village in Ajingi Local Government Area.
