The governorship candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party NNPP in Ekiti State for the 2026 gubernatorial election, Blessing Abegunde has officially received his certificate of return from the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.
The certificate which guarantees the authenticity of the candidate was presented to him by the national leader of the party, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwakwaso and the National Chairman of the party, Dr. Ajuji Ahmed.
The ceremony was attended by the senator representing Kano Central Senatorial District, Rufai Abdu Hanka.
With the current development, Abegunde is the first candidate among the contestants for the next year’s election to get his Certificate of Return.
Addressing newsmen after receiving the certificate, Abegunde affirmed that the journey to take over the government house has begun in earnest.
He confirmed that he had all it takes to transform Ekiti into an enviable state within one year of giving the opportunity.
According to him, Ekiti is not as poor as portrayed, saying the state had not grown economically because successive governments had failed in the management of her resources.
He appealed to the people of the state to support his ambition during next year’s election with a promise never to let them down.
