Father clashes with church officials during son’s burial

KENYA – Mourners in Luanda were left in disbelief after a heated confrontation erupted during the burial of a young man who died in a road accident.
Everything seemed to be going on well until the deceased man’s father was given a chance to address the mourners.
In between his speech, the grieving father demanded that the DJ play a reggae song in honour of his late son.
His interesting request, however, stirred tension as church officials strongly opposed the idea, arguing that reggae music could not be played using the church’s instruments.

Their stance angered the father, who almost called off the burial, threatening to send everyone out of his compound.
According to witnesses, the father said his son had found joy and identity in reggae, and it was only fair that he be sent off in the same rhythm he loved.
The standoff lasted several tense minutes before the DJ cautiously played “Gospel of Jah” by Shasha Marley, a reggae gospel song. As soon as the track blared through the speakers, the father started dancing while the crowd erupted in emotion.
However, no sooner had the group joined in than the song was cut off, creating another standoff with the church.
