Christian genocide: US military submits plan for possible strike in Nigeria

The US military has reportedly submitted contingency plans for potential strikes on Nigeria.
This followed a recent directive from President Donald Trump urging the military to prepare for possible action in Nigeria over the claim of Christian genocide.
The New York Times disclosed this in its report titled “US Military Draws Up Nigeria Plans, With Limited Options to Quell Violence”, published on Wednesday.
The report indicates that the US Africa Command drew up its plans and submitted same to the Department of War this week as requested by Secretary Pete Hegseth.
According to the report, the contingency plan from the African Command, included three options; light, medium and heavy.
The military officials told the New York Times that the “heavy option” presented by the command is the most forceful military response the US could take against Nigeria.
DAILY POST reports that President Trump on Friday last week named Nigeria a Country of Particular Concerns following claims of Christians being massacred.
He subsequently placed the US department of war on a red alert, stating that if the Nigerian government fails to curtail the killing of Christians, the US military will strike.
