‘I’ve not been appointed MD of Maritime Services’ – Edward Onoja

Former Deputy Governor to the immediate past Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, Chief Edward David Onoja (Olimene ATA Igala), has denied a new appointment as Managing Director of Maritime Services.

DAILY POST recalls several congratulatory messages to Chief Edward David Onoja (Olimene ATA Igala) on social media over a purported new appointment.

But Chief Edward David Onoja (Olimene ATA Igala), who was recently appointed by President Ahmed Bola Tinubu as Board Member, South East Development Commission (SEDC), representing the North Central geopolitical zone, denied being offered a new appointment.

He wrote on his verified Facebook page:

“My attention has been drawn to a story currently circulating on social media suggesting that I have received a new appointment from His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.

“For the avoidance of doubt, my current and only portfolio remains that of Board Member, South East Development Commission (SEDC), representing the North Central geopolitical zone—a responsibility for which I remain profoundly grateful to Mr. President.

“I sincerely appreciate the goodwill messages and kind words from friends, associates, and supporters. However, I wish to state categorically that I am fully committed to my present assignment and deeply focused on working with our Chairman, Managing Director, and esteemed colleagues to advance Mr. President’s vision for the South East region and Nigeria at large.

“May I also use this opportunity to remind us that beyond our regional or political affiliations, we are first and foremost Nigerians. Our shared destiny requires that we stand together, integrate our strengths, and unite our hearts in building the nation of our collective dreams.”
