Genocide: Trump’s support for Nigeria’s persecuted Christians highlights commitment to religious freedom – Pompeo

Former United States Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo has revealed that President Donald Trump’s support for Nigeria’s persecuted Christians highlighted his commitment to religious freedom.
Pompeo stated this in a post via his X account on Tuesday night while reacting to Trump’s recent declaration of Nigeria as a country of particular concern over an alleged Christian genocide in the West African country.
Trump had last weekend designated Nigeria as a country of particular concern and threatened military action against Islamic terrorists over the reported Christian genocide.
The 79-year-old Republican also threatened to cut off aid to Nigeria if President Bola Tinubu’s administration fails to wipe out Islamic terrorists killing Christians.
Reacting, Pompeo also insisted that commitment to religious freedom is an issue that is close to the hearts of millions of Americans.
“President Trump’s actions in support of Nigeria’s persecuted Christians is a testament to the administration’s deep commitment to religious freedom – an issue that is close to the hearts of millions of Americans,” Pompeo tweeted.
