The management of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, has said it won’t tolerate any act of fraud in the mobilization of Corps members.
The Director-General of the scheme, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, said this at the 2025 Batch ‘C’ Pre-Mobilization Workshop, in Abuja on Monday.
Nafiu said that scheme would ensure that the integrity of any one or anything involved in its mobilization remain solid.
He noted that there is a proliferation of unauthorized higher institutions in recent times, adding that data manipulation and identity theft, inconsistent data from Corps Producing Institutions, weak inter-agency data linkages, cyber security and system breaches and low data management capacity are now big challenges.
“NYSC will continue to apply sanctions wherever such unethical practices are discovered,” he said.
Speaking, the Director, Corps Mobilisation Department, Mrs Rachel Idaewor, urged participants to align with national policies and international best practices.
The JAMB Registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, said that data manipulation and other sharp practices must be avoided.
Oloyede said not less than 17 persons including some JAMB officials were being prosecuted by the law enforcement agencies for various offences with regards to admission, graduation and mobilization for National Service.
He urged the Student Affairs Officers to always get their data from JAMB and not from their students or other unreliable sources.
