Hearts Game Too Early for Kwame Opoku — Kotoko Coach

KUMASI: Asante Kotoko Assistant Head Coach, Prince Yaw Owusu, is not sure striker Kwame Opoku would feature in the team’s clash against archrivals, Accra Hearts of Oak.

The super clash between the two big rivals comes off on Sunday, November 9, at the Accra Sports Stadium at 15:00 GMT.

Kwame Opoku recently returned from an ankle injury he picked up in Kotoko’s opening game against Berekum Chelsea. However, speaking after Kotoko’s 4-2 win over Karela United, Yaw Owusu cast major doubt over Opoku’s availability for the big game.

“To be honest with you, Sunday is too early for him. We just have to prepare him well [so that] when he comes back, he comes to stay,” he said at a presser.

Without Kwame Opoku, Kotoko are down to Morifin Donzo after the club sold Albert Amoah to Libyan side, Al Ahly Benghazi.

Kotoko and Hearts are the only unbeaten teams in the Ghana Premier League, with Hearts beating Basake Holy Stars 2-1. Hearts have four wins and four draws, while Kotoko have three wins and two draws.
