Vigilantes arrest two suspected burglars in FCT

Two young men have been arrested by vigilante members in Kwaita village, Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, for allegedly attempting to break into a provision shop.
The suspects, identified as Isiyaku Musa and Yohana Danjuma, were apprehended late Saturday night around 11:12 p.m. while allegedly trying to burgle a newly opened shop along Kwaku road in the community.
A member of the vigilante group, Yahaya Shuaibu, who confirmed the incident, said the suspects were caught in the act during a routine patrol.
“They were found with a sledgehammer and a cutter while trying to destroy the shop’s keys when our team arrived. One of us heard a strange sound and flashed his torchlight towards the shop. The suspects attempted to run but were immediately apprehended,” Shuaibu explained.
He added that the suspects were later handed over to the police for further investigation.
