WASCAL launches 3rd cohort of International Master’s Programme in Energy and Green Hydrogen

The West African Science Service Centre on Climate Change and Adapted Land Use (WASCAL) has announced its third cohort of candidates selected to pursue the International Master’s Programme in Energy and Green Hydrogen (IMP-EGH).
The 60 students, drawn from 12 West African countries, will undergo a two-year programme which commenced on July 14 2025.
Welcoming the beneficiaries during an official ceremony held at the Tang Palace Hotel in Accra on October 30, 2025, the Executive Director of WASCAL, Prof Emmanuel Wendsongre Ramde, challenged them to think creatively as they prepare to lead Africa’s energy transformation.
He said the programme, by its design, is intended to nurture the continent’s homegrown science innovators while shaping the future of science and self-reliance.
The German Ambassador to Ghana, Frederik Landshoft, said Germany hopes to build stronger ties with African scientists through the WASCAL
