Fair Wages and Salaries Commission wins best public sector compensation and benefits award


The Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC) has emerged as the Best Organisation in Compensation and Benefits in the Public Sector at the 2025 edition of the HR Focus Africa Awards.
The prestigious recognition celebrates FWSC’s outstanding efforts in implementing competitive compensation and benefits strategies aimed at attracting and retaining top talent within Ghana’s public sector.
Upon receiving the award, the Chief Executive of FWSC, Dr George Smith-Graham, commended the Commission’s staff for their dedication and hard work, which he said had contributed significantly to the achievement.
“This award is a reflection of the commitment and professionalism of our staff,” Dr Smith-Graham stated. “Together, we have demonstrated that public sector institutions can also lead the way in innovative compensation management.”
The Head of Human Resources at FWSC, Louisa Dadzie, also expressed her delight at the recognition, describing it as a testament to the Commission’s continuous pursuit of excellence.
“This honour belongs to every member of the FWSC team. It affirms that our collective efforts are yielding results and motivates us to do even more,” she said.
The HR Focus Africa Awards, held on Friday, 12 September 2025, seeks to promote excellence in Human Resource Management across Ghana and Africa.
The scheme aims to identify, recognise, and celebrate organisations and individuals that have demonstrated best practices in HR management while fostering a culture of professional growth and networking among HR practitioners.
The 7th edition featured over 30 award categories, acknowledging outstanding achievements by both public and private sector institutions across the continent.
The recognition of the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission affirms its pivotal role in promoting equitable and sustainable remuneration practices within the country’s public service.
