Only suspects feel threatened over Trump’s designation of Nigeria as CPC – Nnamdi Kanu’s lawyer

Aloy Ejimakor, Special Counsel to Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has reacted to the designation of Nigeria as a Country of Particular Concern (CPC) by United States President Donald Trump.
Ejimakor said only those with something to hide would feel threatened by Trump’s designation of Nigeria as a CPC.
Over the weekend, Trump designated Nigeria a Country of Particular Concern following reports of genocide against Christians in the northern part of the country.
The former U.S. president also threatened possible military action to eliminate Islamic terrorists allegedly responsible for the killings of Christians in the region.
Reacting, Ejimakor said the designation was aimed at unlocking the full potential of U.S. influence in the fight against religious terrorism in Nigeria.
Posting on X, he wrote: “The designation of Nigeria as a Country of Particular Concern is intended to unlock the full potential of American soft power and place it at the disposal of Nigeria in the fight against religious terror.
“If you feel threatened by it, then you’re a suspect. Simple!”
