Amaniampong Senior High School has etched its name into the 2025 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) history, securing its first-ever quarterfinal slot after a commanding display.

The Kontonkyi boys from Mampong delivered a stellar all-round performance, finishing the one-eighth stage contest with an emphatic 55 points, ahead of Aburi Presby SHTS with 35 points and Adiembra SHS with 28 points.

Amaniampong began the contest strongly, taking the lead after Round One with 24 points, while Aburi Presby SHTS and Adiembra SHS followed with 16 and 15 points, respectively. They extended their dominance in Round Two, stretching their lead to 29 points, leaving their opponents struggling to keep up.

Their highlight moment came in the Problem of the Day, where Amaniampong scored a perfect 10/10, earning them a GHS 2,000 cash prize from Prudential Life Insurance Ghana — the official sponsor of the round. Aburi Presby and Adiembra managed 5/10 and 4/10, respectively.

By Round Four, Amaniampong had already established a near-unassailable lead with 49 points, maintaining composure and accuracy to close the contest with 55 points.

This historic victory not only sends Amaniampong SHS into the quarterfinals for the first time in their NSMQ journey but also earns them a seeded status for the 2026 edition, a significant milestone for the Mampong-based school.
