There is ongoing Christian genocide in Plateau State – Prophet El-Buba insists

Despite persistent denials by the Nigerian government that there is no religious genocide in any part of the country, Jos, Plateau State-based clergy, Prophet Isa El-Buba, has insisted that there is an ongoing genocide, especially in the state, where Christians are being killed and systematically exterminated.
El-Buba, the Founder and President of EL-Buba Outreach Ministries International, who made the assertion in a video message he shared on his social media handles on Monday, said, contrary to what the federal government wants Nigerians and the international community to believe, Christians in the state are being killed by Islamic extremists and fundamentalists.
Giving an analysis of the rate of Christians being killed, the outspoken man of God noted that the chances are an alarming 6.5 times to a ratio of 1 to a Muslim being killed.
Speaking in the video, El-Buba said: “There is this video sent to me by my brother, Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, which I watched. This is the reality of what we have been talking about. Now, if you want to go and make an analysis of the statistics of Christians that have been killed, it is 6.5 to the ratio of 1 of Muslims killed.
“That means the ratio of Christians likely to be killed is 6.5 to 1 of Muslims. That means Christians are killed 6.5 times more than Muslims.
“So the question to ask is: who are the killers? Is it the Muslims killing themselves and then coming after Christians? Just look at this, there was a recent mass burial in three locations in Plateau State on the same day.
“And the government insists there is no Christian genocide. Just judge for yourself. The advisor to President (Donald) Trump or whoever can say whatever they want to say, but there is no way they can deny what we are going through in Plateau.
“This is the reality. Let’s all wake up and face the truth. No one can deny the fact that there’s Christian genocide in Nigeria, especially in Plateau State,” Prophet El-Buba insisted.
Last week, the clergy had also countered the denials by the Nigerian government following several allegations by some US Congressmen.
In a message he shared on his social media handles, Prophet El-Buba had said that there was no amount of sugar-coating that could deny the fact that Christians are being killed, especially in the northern parts of the country.
In the passionate message which he addressed to Nigerians, he said: “Yes, there is ongoing genocide against Christians and Middle Belt communities in Nigeria,” accusing the government of covering up the scale of the atrocities.
“More than 7,087 Christians were killed in the first 220 days of 2025, representing an average of 32 deaths daily. Records have shown that 3,100 deaths were recorded in 2024 and 4,118 between October 2022 and September 2023.”
Referencing the 2023 Christmas massacre in Plateau State, where over 300 Christians were killed, as well as separate attacks in Benue State, El-Buba said over 500 lives were lost in that year alone.
“There is this issue that is ongoing about the genocide in Nigeria against the Christians or the Middle Beltans. It is true. We can’t deny it.”
