Residents of Ohirigwe Village in Oju Local Government Area of Benue State are in shock following the brutal murder of a 15-year-old boy, identified as Sunday Ela, whose beheaded body was found on a farm.
Community members revealed that the incident happened on October 15 when one John Adima, said to be an indigene of the village but living in Ondo State, invited the young boy to join him on his farm.
However, Adima allegedly returned home alone and later escaped from the community to an unknown location.
When the boy failed to return, concerned villagers suspected something was wrong and launched a search.
Their worst fears were confirmed when they found the teenager’s beheaded corpse on the farm.
Security operatives have since begun an investigation to determine the motive behind the killing and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.
