Liverpool vs Man Utd: Amorim, Slot fight for momentum, pride at Anfield

There will be a lot at stake when Liverpool host Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday evening.

The Premier League champions went into the international break on a losing streak.

Arne Slot’s men lost back-to-back matches against Crystal Palace, Galatasaray and then Chelsea.

For a team that was tipped to defend their title easily, Liverpool seem to be falling behind and are effectively playing catch up.

Arsenal’s gritty 1-0 win at Fulham on Saturday, saw them go three points clear of Manchester City, who also beat Everton comfortably at the Etihad,

More importantly, the Gunners are four points ahead of Liverpool.

So the Reds will not only be looking to beat United to get their campaign back on track, they need maximum points to keep up with Arsenal and City.

For Ruben Amorim, he has been in charge of United for almost one year, but has failed to win two consecutive games.

This is a big chance for them. With Liverpool looking out of sorts, the Red Devils can go to Anfield and get something.

Benjamin Sesko seems to also be finding his feet after early-season struggles and could cause trouble for the hosts.

This is a fixture both rivals cannot afford to lose.
