Photos of nurse Esther – GhPage

A young Ghanaian nurse, Esther Onsonyameye, has been left devastated after discovering that the man she believed to be a soldier was, in fact, a shoeshiner who worked at Burma Camp.
Her story, which has gained widespread attention, was shared by Crime Check Ghana on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, sparking discussions about online deception and the dangers of misplaced trust in romantic relationships.
According to the report, Esther met the man, identified as Frank Anaab, on social media. He posed as a Ghanaian soldier, posting photos of himself in military uniform, which immediately caught her attention.
The nurse admitted that she had always dreamed of marrying a soldier, and Frank’s well-curated online persona made him appear as the perfect match.
Their relationship soon blossomed, lasting about a year, during which Esther believed she was dating a genuine member of the Ghana Armed Forces.
“I bought assorted provisions, a mosquito net, bedsheets, and other items to make him comfortable at his camp, not knowing he was a fake soldier. He deceived me,” Esther lamented.

She explained that Frank would often stay with her but leave late at night, claiming he was reporting for duty at the barracks.
This pattern, along with his convincing stories about military life, strengthened her belief that he truly served in the army.
However, Esther’s illusion was shattered when she shared photos of herself and Frank on social media as a gesture of love.
Within hours, she received messages from multiple women who claimed to be in relationships with the same man.
The women eventually joined forces to confront Frank, only to uncover the shocking truth — he was not a soldier but a shoeshiner who worked around the Burma Camp area.
When questioned, Frank reportedly failed to provide any credible military identification, unit number, or service details.
Further investigations revealed that he had been posing as a recruiter, taking money from unsuspecting victims with false promises to help them enlist in the army.
Esther also disclosed that Frank had borrowed money from her, promising to repay it once his “salary” was paid a lie he had allegedly used to scam other women.
