KENYA – A family is mourning the tragic loss of their young son, Yosia Benjamini, who sadly passed away under mysterious circumstances.
The Grade Seven pupil from Majengo area in Songe died following an attack by a chicken. Yosia was reportedly sleeping when he suddenly woke up, screaming in pain as a chicken pecked his face.
His agonising screams caught the attention of his mother, who rushed to see what was happening.

Speaking in a report by Odemba Media, the boy’s father, Benjamini Makelo, explained that he had already reported to work when he received a call informing him that a chicken had attacked his son.
“It was around 11 am when my son called, saying he was in pain because a chicken had pecked his face and eyes while he was asleep. He said the chicken ran away and looked very normal,” said Makelo.
He organised for his son to be rushed to the hospital, where they found that the chicken had pecked the area near his eyes. At first, the injury seemed minor, so they bought painkillers and returned home.
