Security operatives have arrested a 46-year-old man, identified as Yakubu Adamu, for allegedly being in possession of a locally fabricated AK-47 rifle in Izzam village, Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Security analyst, Zagazola Makama, disclosed the development in a post on X on Thursday.
According to Makama, the suspect was apprehended on Tuesday evening following credible intelligence received by operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit.
A search conducted on him reportedly led to the recovery of the fabricated rifle.
“The suspect has already provided useful information to investigators,” he wrote
Makama added that efforts are currently ongoing to track down other accomplices connected to the illegal weapon.
