2026 WCQ: What Ronaldo said after Portugal drew Hungary


Portugal captain, Cristiano Ronaldo has expressed hope for his country’s quest to secure next year’s World Cup ticket.

Ronaldo spoke after leading Portugal to a 2-2 draw against Hungary in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier on Tuesday.

A brace from the Al Nassr forward ensured Portugal got a point against Hungary at home.

Reacting, Ronaldo took to his X account after the game and wrote:

“We’re getting closer and closer to our goal! Let’s go, Portugal!”

Portugal is currently top of Group F with 10 points from four games in the qualifiers so far.

They are ahead of Hungary with five points and will face Ireland in their next World Cup qualifier in November.
