‘My own people attacked me because I converted to Christianity’ – Plateau Pastor claims (Video)
A Fulani man, who converted from Islam to Christianity and became a pastor has revealed how his people became angry with his decision and tried to kill him and his family.
In a video shared on social media platforms, the victim, Pastor Adamu Musa, who said he had lived in the Miangi community in Bassa local government area of Plateau State for over 17 years, narrated how the Fulani militants had been carrying out periodic and unprovoked violent attacks on the communities, killing Innocent residents, destroying their farmlands and taking over ancestral lands.
In his case, Pastor Musa said his people had marked him for elimination and had tried to kill him by shooting at him and burning down his house simply because he became a Christian and was preaching against their violent acts.
While speaking in the video, he said:
“My name is Pastor Adamu Musa, I am a Fulani man who converted from Islam to Christianity.
“I was posted to Miango for my pastoral work and I have lived among the native people for over 17 years. In my time here, I have faced several attacks from my own people who want to kill me due to my decision to become a Christian and I have been preaching to them to stop attacking the people.
“It happened that I have fallen into the hands of my people who are also Fulani several times. I also became a victim of Fulani attacks.
“Fulani have been attacking people in Miango without any reason. The day I was attacked, I was on a motorcycle when they ambushed me and shot at me.
“But I thank God because I am a believer and I know Jesus. My prayer is God should change them and make them come to understanding. The second thing is that I want Christians to understand that we have to rise up and protect ourselves.
“We know that God is with us because we have never looked for Fulani’s trouble. I have stayed in Miango land for over 17 years. I have never seen a time when our people offended them.
“They are always the ones who come to attack us and destroy our farmlands, crops and kill our people.
“Last year, they attacked me and burnt down my house and this year, they also attacked and shot me.
“My prayer is that God should open their eyes because we don’t have anything against them. What I want our people to know is that we should protect ourselves because we do not have security. The soldiers are not helping us at all.”
