Panic in Benue community as armed men abduct residents

Fear has gripped residents of Tse-Atim community in Ugbaam, Ukum Local Government Area of Benue State, following an early morning attack reportedly carried out by armed men suspected to be Fulani herders.
According to local sources, the assailants invaded the community in the early hours of Tuesday, abducting several residents before retreating into nearby bushes.
The exact number of those kidnapped could not be immediately ascertained.
The incident has brought panic among villagers, with many fleeing their homes for fear of further attacks.
Community members are calling on security agencies to urgently intervene to ensure the safe release of the abducted persons and prevent a recurrence.
Traditional rulers and local leaders have appealed to both the Benue State Government and federal authorities to deploy additional security personnel to the area to restore calm and protect lives and property.
