Parliamentary Committee applauds MCE for Savelugu

The Committee on Local Government and Rural Development has lauded the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Savelugu, Mr Alhassan Fuseini, for his exemplary leadership and deep understanding of local governance issues in the municipality.
The commendation was made last Thursday when Mr Fuseini appeared before the Committee, chaired by Ms Queenstar Maame Pokua Sawyerr, to respond to questions on the state of development in the area.
Committee members praised the MCE for his articulate responses and practical knowledge of the challenges and opportunities within Savelugu, describing his presentation as a reflection of effective and inclusive leadership.
Responding to questions, Mr Fuseini attributed his achievements to strong collaboration with key stakeholders, particularly the Paramount Chief of Savelugu, Yoo Naa Abdulai Yakubu Andani. He said his close partnership with the traditional authority had been instrumental in advancing development initiatives and maintaining social harmony in the municipality.
The MCE, however, highlighted key challenges hindering development, including poor road infrastructure and the deplorable state of the Savelugu market. According to him, addressing these issues would significantly boost trade, mobility, and the overall quality of life for residents.
He, therefore, appealed to the Committee to support efforts to channel these concerns to the appropriate authorities for prompt attention and intervention.
The Committee acknowledged the challenges raised and assured the MCE of their support in facilitating solutions, particularly regarding internal roads and market rehabilitation.
Ms Sawyerr commended Mr Fuseini for his proactive and collaborative leadership style, which she said exemplifies the ideals of local governance and partnership between political and traditional authorities.
She added that the Committee’s commendation was in recognition of his hard work, commitment, and results-oriented approach toward advancing development in the Savelugu Municipality.
