Ballon d’Or: He made difference – Zlatan Ibrahimovic names player that deserves award over Dembele

Former Manchester United striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has insisted that Barcelona winger, Lamine Yamal deserved the 2024 Ballon d’Or over Paris Saint-Germain’s Ousmane Dembele.

According to Ibrahimovic, Yamal was making the difference on the pitch more than Dembele.

Last month, Dembele won this year’s Ballon d’Or ahead of second-place Yamal, who also took home the Kopa Trophy.

Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport, Ibrahimovic suggested that the journalists voting for the Ballon d’Or need to judge players based on their ability to change matches on their own.

“You have to judge the player on his ability to make a difference individually,” the Swede said.

“For me, Yamal did. I would have given it to Yamal,” he added.

Yamal will have to wait to try and win the Ballon d’Or in the near future.
