Steven Gerrard snubs offer to return to former club

Steven Gerrard has turned down the chance to return to Rangers as manager.
According to Sky Sports, Gerrard has ended negotiations with the Scottish side, who are searching for Russell Martin’s replacement.
The former England midfielder held talks with Rangers on Thursday and Friday.
However, he has decided that the timing wasn’t quite right for a return at this stage.
Talks between Gerrard and Rangers were understood to be positive throughout and both sides agreed to leave the door open for the future.
Gerrard won the Scottish Premiership with Rangers in 2021, before leaving to take over at Aston Villa shortly afterwards.
He was then sacked by Villa after less than a year in charge, before taking up a role at Saudi Pro League club Al Ettifaq.
Gerrard also left that role in January after 18 months in charge.
