Super Eagles can’t afford to miss 2026 World Cup – Yobo

Former Super Eagles captain, Joseph Yobo, has said the team cannot afford to miss out on playing at the 2026 World Cup.
However, Yobo has admitted that Nigeria would need a miracle to qualify for the tournament.
Eric Chelle’s men are currently in third place in Group C, three points behind Benin Republic and South Africa.
The Eagles must now take maximum points from their last two fixtures against Lesotho and Benin, to stand a chance.
“For a country like Nigeria not to be there, it doesn’t make sense. It affects everyone, because football is a huge part of our culture,” Yobo said on Brila FM.
“We can’t keep making these mistakes. I’m not even thinking about not qualifying. I’m just hoping that a miracle happens somewhere. But we must play our part first.”
