A 30-year-old man identified as Sheriff Abdulai, popularly known as Sani Mohammed, has been arrested in Wa, in the Upper West Region, for allegedly unaliving and consuming parts of his victims.
The suspect, described by police sources as a “human beast,” is said to have confessed to unaliving fifteen people between 2021 and 2025, targeting mostly night watchmen and mentally unstable persons.
According to police investigators, Abdulai removed vital organs such as the heart, tongue, and lungs from his victims, roasted and ate them at the crime scenes.

His arrest follows an intense manhunt ordered by the (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, who deployed a special task force made up of detectives from the Police Anti-Armed Robbery Unit and the Police Intelligence Directorate (PID) to Wa to help local authorities solve the mystery surrounding the recent serial killings.
The breakthrough came after police arrested Mahamuda Lamin, a 25-year-old man found with the stolen mobile phone of a deceased watchman, Issah Yahaya, 55, who was murdered on September 21, 2025, at Wa-Dobile.
During interrogation, Lamin allegedly mentioned Sheriff Abdulai as the person who had taken the phone, though he could not provide details of Abdulai’s residence.
With the assistance of community opinion leaders, police intensified their investigations and apprehended Abdulai on Monday, October 6, 2025.
Under questioning, the suspect reportedly confessed to at least four murders committed in Kpaguri, Loho, Kambale, and Mangu in 2021.
He further admitted to eleven additional killings in areas including Kulpong-Yeyri, Goripie, T.I. Ahmadiyya School, Kpaguri near Chorkor Sawmill, and Napogbakole.
