EPL: Sam Allardyce ranks top 10 strikers

Former Bolton Wanderers manager Sam Allardyce has ranked his top 10 Premier League strikers.
Allardyce placed Manchester City’s Erling Haaland as the number one striker in the Premier League at the moment, followed by Liverpool’s Alexander Isak in second position and Crystal Palace’s Jean-Philippe Mateta in third place, while speaking on the No Tippy Tappy Football show.
He placed Chelsea’s new No. 9, Joao Pedro, in fourth position, ahead of Liverpool’s Hugo Ekitike in fifth place.
Allardyce then put the likes of Chris Wood (sixth), Yoane Wissa (seventh), Viktor Gyokeres (eighth), Ollie Watkins (ninth) and Liam Delap (tenth).
Explaining his decision to include Gyokeres in his top 10 strikers, Allardyce said: “I think that over the last few years he has proven to be a top player who can score goals.”
For Ekitike, Allardyce added, “Another big player for Liverpool. “It was a shock to see them buy so many players after winning the league.
“But Arne Slot has obviously gone to the board and asked for a lot. I think he’s probably right. More power in the frontline is essential given the number of games they will have this season.”
