A Ghanaian woman identified as Gertrude Cindy Amaniampong has tragically been found dead in her home in the United States, where she had reportedly been living alone for weeks.
According to reports, Cindy, who had been residing in the U.S. for several years, recently became embroiled in a painful land dispute in Ghana.
She is said to have purchased a parcel of land in Accra and built a house on it, only for another person to later claim ownership of the same property.
The ensuing legal battle is believed to have taken a heavy toll on her. Sources close to the family claim she spent huge sums of money on legal fees and that her relatives had been frequently traveling between Ghana and the U.S. to support her in the case.
Despite her determined efforts, Cindy reportedly lost the case, leaving her emotionally and financially drained.
Friends say that the experience pushed her into deep depression, as she struggled to come to terms with the injustice she faced.
In recent days, her neighbours in the U.S. became alarmed after they hadn’t seen or heard from her for an extended period.
They subsequently alerted the police, who arrived at her residence to conduct a welfare check.
Upon breaking into the house, the authorities discovered her lifeless body.
A video circulating online shows police officers removing Cindy Amaniampong’s body from her home as investigations continue into the exact cause of her death.
