Ten rescued after head-on collision at Yapei

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has commended the swift and courageous actions of its Buipe Fire Command after responding to a distress call involving a serious road traffic accident at Yapei in the Savannah Region.
According to a statement issued on Facebook, the incident occurred when a tractor with registration number NR-1837-A was involved in a head-on collision with a Toyota Hiace minibus, registered AS-7243-23, in the middle of the road.
Upon arrival at the scene, the GNFS rescue team found ten individuals trapped in the mangled wreckage of the vehicles.
The firefighters quickly deployed rescue equipment to extricate all victims, who were then handed over to the National Ambulance Service.

The injured persons were subsequently conveyed to the Yapei Polyclinic for emergency treatment.

The GNFS confirmed that while the impact on both vehicles was severe, no fatalities were immediately reported.

The cause of the accident remains unknown, as investigations are currently underway to determine the circumstances that led to the collision.

The GNFS has praised the professionalism and dedication of its officers, reinforcing its commitment to protecting lives and property, especially on the nation’s roads.
