Police impound 38 vehicles over illegal tinted glass in Jigawa

The Jigawa State Police Command said it apprehended thirty-eight (38) vehicles found in flagrant violation of established traffic regulations, specifically non-compliance with lawful tinted permit standards.

This was contained in a press statement signed by the Command’s spokesman, SP Lawan Shiisu Adam, and issued to newsmen.

He said the infractions hinder effective law enforcement, impede identification, and compromise public safety.

According to the statement, “In line with this mandate, the Command has intensified vigilance against violations related to covered vehicle plate numbers and unauthorized tinted glass, which undermine transparency and pose security risks.”

“We wish to officially inform the esteemed public and all road users that it is committed to rigorous enforcement of traffic laws and ensuring road safety.”

The statement advised motorists to desist from such unlawful practices and to swiftly adhere to the guidelines regulating plate numbers and tinted glasses.

The Command urged that the public’s cooperation and adherence to traffic regulations are pivotal to fostering a safe, secure, and orderly environment for all citizens.

The Command assured all residents that it is working tirelessly to promote compliance, safety, and security on the streets. Sensitization and regular patrols will be sustained to prevent such violations and ensure adherence to traffic regulations.

SP Shiisu said all the 38 motor vehicles impounded have been charged to court.
