A security guard has been found dead under mysterious circumstances while on duty at Frimps Oil Company Ltd located at Abesim-Dominase Junction in the Bono Region
According to police reports, the yet-to-be-identified security officer is believed to have been attacked and unalived by unknown assailants during his night shift.
Preliminary investigations revealed that a CCTV camera positioned near the crime scene was deliberately turned away, depriving investigators of critical video evidence that could have helped reconstruct the incident.
Police sources suspect that the assailants may have attacked the guard with a pestle while he was asleep on a bench, a spot where he reportedly rested during his night duties.
Authorities have since cordoned off the area, and the body has been conveyed to the morgue for autopsy as investigations continue.
Residents of Abesim-Dominase have expressed shock and fear following the incident, calling for increased security presence in the area, especially around fuel stations that operate late into the night.
Meanwhile, the Bono Regional Police Command has launched a full-scale investigation to track down the perpetrators and determine the motive behind the attack.
