Investing in People: Petrosol Reaffirms Staff-First Philosophy for Growth
Petrosol Platinum Energy Limited has reinforced its commitment to putting staff welfare at the heart of its operations, stressing that investing in people remains the foundation for sustainable business growth and long-term success.
Speaking at the Energizing Team Petrosol event, Chief Executive of Petrosol, Mr. Michael Bozumbil, explained that the company’s staff-first philosophy has sustained it through turbulent times in the energy sector and positioned it for future expansion.
“Whereas some companies cut salaries or laid off workers during COVID-19, we strengthened our investment in staff. We extended maternity leave, paid social security contributions, and set up provident funds. Our philosophy is simple, when staff are cared for, they take care of customers, and that is the true driver of business growth.”
Mr. Bozumbil revealed that Petrosol has rolled out a ten-year strategic plan that aims to expand nationwide, operate more 24-hour service stations, and create new jobs for young people. He also emphasized the company’s commitment to ethical business practices, tax compliance, and maintaining triple ISO certifications in quality management, occupational health and safety, and environmental management.
The Guest of Honor, CEO of the Ghana Employers’ Association, Mr. Alex Frimpong, underscored the importance of strong employer-employee relations in sustaining the energy sector.
“Without employees, no business can survive. Employers must invest in people, innovation, and motivation to achieve long-term objectives,” he said.
As part of the celebration, the company recognized outstanding staff across its nationwide operations. Supply Chain Manager, Timothy Kwesi Akook, was honoured as the Overall Most Outstanding Employee of the Decade. He expressed gratitude for the recognition, noting that integrity and dedication had guided his service since joining the company in 2014.
“I never knew management was watching, what I’ve been doing. Today I’m very happy and grateful to the CEO for this recognition. My focus now is on enforcing the rules and ensuring the company’s standards are upheld. Integrity and dedication to work are what have kept me going, and I believe these values will drive Petrosol forward even after I leave.”
Looking ahead, Petrosol says its focus will remain on building an indigenous brand that is internationally competitive while continuing to prioritize staff welfare.
