‘It may not be helpful to him’ – Oshiomhole advises Jonathan over 2027 ambition

Senator Adams Oshiomhole has advised former President Goodluck Jonathan to retain his legacy by not giving in to pressure to contest the 2027 presidential election.
Oshiomhole stated this while fielding questions on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics.
According to Oshiomhole, only Jonathan’s enemy wanted him to throw his hat in the ring.
He, however, said that the former president would be defeated in 2027 by the All Progressives Congress, APC, if he chose to contest.
Oshiomhole said: “How can Jonathan be a threat? We defeated him before, when PDP was truly PDP. If a man had PDP at its peak, I think it is only his enemies that will push him into the ring.
“That may not be helpful to him. I think he has managed to demonstrate that out of power you can be relevant and really at peace.
“If I will be able to advise him, I will say ‘Sir, maintain this status’. If I were him I will spend the rest of my life trying to find relevance, which he has already found”.
DAILY POST reports that Jonathan was the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, but lost the 2015 presidential election to late President Muhammadu Buhari of the APC.
