National Assembly rubber stamp for Tinubu – PDP chieftain Pearse

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Adetokunbo Pearse, has criticised the National Assembly, accusing it of neglecting its constitutional duties and serving only the interests of President Bola Tinubu.
Pearse made the allegation during an interview on Arise Television, where he asserted that the National Assembly has become a rubber-stamp legislature that complies with the president’s every demand.
“The National Assembly we have today is a rubber stamp one. The president gets whatever he wants. Any president who wants to manipulate the National Assembly can do so.
“And this one is actually manipulating it to the best of his own ability and to the detriment of progress for Nigerians and security for Nigerians,” he said.
He further took a swipe at the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, insisting that he is unfit to lead the legislature.
“Akpabio should not be president of the Senate. He’s a criminal, he shouldn’t be there. He has cases in the EFCC, millions that he stole when he was governor,” he added.
